River Valley Fun Fair

I can 't believe the end of the school year is almost here...but it must be because we last weekend we got to go to the kids school for the fun fair.  I think everyone had a good time.  Emmie and Owen both showed off their personalities with their face paint.
I'm still not sure if Owen came up with this idea for his face or someone else, Either way it's a little bold.  He proudly wore it for 2 days until I made him wash it off for church.

John took Owen and Emmie around to the games while I served hot dogs :)

And Ains and I even got to sell brownies that her class had made.  I think by the end of the night they had sold over 400 brownies to help buy electronics for the school.
They were quite pushy little salesmen, but they got the job done!

It was after the fun fair where Emmie experienced the 3rd most traumatic moment of her life so far.  First would have been when I dropped her, second was when she nearly choked in the car, but this is one that I think she might actually remember.  When we put her to bed that night we saw a big spider crawling on her light fixture.  We tried to get it but it climbed inside.  So we sprayed some poison on the light fixture, assuming that the spider would just shrivel up and die a slow and miserable death.  But we were wrong.  About 10 minutes later Emmie started screaming.  A terrible panicked scream.  She was screaming that there was a bee in her room.  I ran up the stairs looking for the bee and nearly ran into the spider that had lowered itself by its web and was swaying midair at Emmie's eye level.  The spider was promptly killed, but Emmie spent the night in our bed.  She was up constantly looking for bugs and I finally had to get rid of her pillow because she was sure that the print on it was actually bugs.  The next night we heard the same panicked scream when she was in the bath and a fly flew into the bathroom. Last night she slept in her own bed with no panic attacks.  I'm seriously hoping she hasn't been scarred for life.

Jess, you look fantastic. I don't know if it is the rapid rate at which my body is growing (two babies - so giant) or what, but everyone around me seems to be turning into toothpicks. You look awesome!

Oh my gosh, that spider story terrifies me and I wasn't even there. Poor little girl!

Emmie will always be scared if spiders. I was chased by a dog when I was three, and thirty years later I am still terrified ;)

You do look great, btw. You even make the hot dogs look good ;)
