Norah

The kids got to meet a new cousin yesterday. Kortney had Norah on the 24th. It's been a while since we've had babies around here! All of our other baby cousins have lived too far away. I would guess that Emmie was the most excited. Although she was done holding her after about 15 seconds. She quickly learned that newborns are adorable, but not very exciting.

Happy Easter!

MAGIC

Owen was given a magic trick set as a souvenir from Disney Land.  His card levitation skills are CRAZY!!!!

Wicked

John and I had tried and failed to get some tickets to Wicked for Ains for her birthday.  So when a friend came to me last Wednesday and told me that they had found some super cheap tickets for Wicked I jumped on it. Actually I forgot about it until the  next morning. But at 5:30 Thursday morning I went to this website and found some tickets for $14 a piece.  I was sure it was a scam.  With taxes and fees the tickets were still only $25 a piece.  I made John check out the website to see if he thought is was legit.  Neither of us were sure.  So we bought them anyways!

By 8:30 Thursday morning I had en email telling me that the tickets would be overnighted at no extra cost to us since the performance was for Friday night.  By Friday at 11:00 I had the tickets in hand.  When Ains got home from school I told her to get dressed up because we were going out that night.  She was completely excited when we got down to the Morrison Center and she realized what we were doing.
Ainsley and I had an awesome night!  She loved it and I had fun seeing it again.  We were near the top but right in the center and had a great view. It was a perfect night out!

Conference Weekend

I'd love to say that our home was full of reverence and the spirit over conference weekend.  It was not.  I was a little unprepared for the weekend this time around.  My bad.  These pictures pretty much sum up all the joy and love that was taking place in our house during our 8 hours in front of the TV.  And yes, these were all taken during conference.

Science Fair

Ains decided she wanted to participate in the school science fair this year. It's optional at our school. So, being the wonderful mother that I am, I told her that she was welcome to enter the science fair as long as she did the project herself.  And that's just what she did.  She ended up getting a bit of help with some technicalities, and I bought her supplies.  Other than that she was on her own.  And she did great.  She got a gold medal!  Which basically means she got an A on it.  So proud!

Brooke

I've been a little sad and depressed lately.  For several reasons really.  The good news is I'm over it and out of my funk.  The bad news is one of the reasons I was in my funk was because one of my best friends moved away.  A whole 3 miles away.  And it made me sad.  She is truly one of my favorite people in the world.  She has been like a sister to me for years.  And I desperately hope that the 3 miles won't affect our friendship at all.  Because the thought of that makes me really sad.  So here is my photo montage dedicated to Brooke.  And also, I have noticed I have no nice smiley pictures of Brooke and I.  That is being added to my to-do list immediately.

imovies is awesome

The kids made this video on the ipad over Christmas break.  I think it's hilarious.  It makes me laugh every time I watch it.  Enjoy.

Our Spring Break

While Ainsley and Bria were off having fun in sunny CA, those of us left behind tried to have a little fun as well.  Owen and Bailey and Emmie spent a lot of quality time together that week.  I made my two pregnant sisters get out and have some fun with me. They were super excited about it.  We swam, watched movies, ate yummy food, shopped, visited play places, attempted a hike in the mountains....apparently there is still snow in the mountains (lesson learned!), and did all other sorts of exciting things.  It was just as fun as Disney Land.  Just. As. Fun.

Jealous!

My parents (being the Disney Freaks that they are) were talking one day.  And they decided that they wanted to have one big memorable and individual moment with each grandchild.  They decided that they would take their grandkids to Disney Land when they were 10. This was the lucky year for Bria and Ainsley to be able to go.  They took off and left us for the week of spring break.  We were all completely jealous!  Owen is awaiting his turn, only 2 1/2 years away!

They had a blast.  They were gone for a full week.  Spent 4 days at Disney Land.  Experienced their first earthquake while waiting in line to ride the Cars ride.  Quite a memorable trip I'd say.  I know that it is something Ainsley will never forget.
