Welcome Back! (insert welcome back Kotter theme song here)

We're back from our trip to Utah. We got together with all of John's family in Salt Lake this weekend. There was a packed house seeing as how John has 6 brothers and sisters and there are 12 grandchildren. The trip was fun though. We got a family picture taken. Ainsley got to have a sleepover with her cousins. We got to go hiking (okay it was just a leisurely stroll) in the mountains. We went to a water thing (not sure how to describe it) in Liberty Park. We got to see my nephew's baptism. And because of the baptism we got to see John's grandparents who we don't get to see all that often. I just stuck on a bunch of random pictures from the trip since I had a hard time remembering my camera.

These final pictures are from the highlight of the trip for John. We went geocaching with David and Yanira. I guess you might say it's their new family hobby. I might be a little slow but I had never heard of this until a few weeks ago. In case there is anyone out there like me who has no idea what this is, it's kind of like treasure hunting but you use a GPS system and you go looking for "caches." There all over the place! You find the "treasure" that someone else left behind (usually little trinkets and knickknack's) and then you leave something in it's place. It's kind of cool because there are these things hidden all over the place. Can anyone guess what John wants to buy now and what he thinks our new family hobby should be????

Glad you had fun in Utah. Too bad we couldn't get together, but I know you were very busy with family. Next time you come we will plan something!

Jessica,

Hi. It is Lisa-Marie (Bigelow)Jensen. I have tracked your blog down from the CHS blog. Good to see you are doing so well and your cutie kids! Ainsley seems like a riot. I think she and my Sirri would get along. They both seem to have some spunk! I love it!!!

Our family geocaches and we LOVE it. It is so much fun. Last year we had 1:00 church and went most every Sunday morning (when the weather was nice) and our kids love to go "treasure hunting." It is definitely worth the GPS investment! Does John do the Ebay thing? If so, you can find great GPS deals there.

I love your blog and will keep checking in!

Welcome Home. I was starting to think the worst when it had been a week and you hadn't written a blog. Hee hee. I'm glad you had a good time. My husband went geocaching last year with his scouts and they thought it was the best. I haven't ever been though. Sounds fun. My son would probably love it since it's the next closest thing to being a pirate with a treasure map.

First of all, your hair looks super cute! Second, I am impressed that you discovered how to add a slideshow to your blog. Third, I can see how John would love to get into geocaching. I have a client that makes the little coins that are sometimes found in the boxes; he was telling me about them a few weeks ago, and I didn't know what they were so I googled it. I mentioned it to Russ (I thought it would be a great scout activity), but since you don't use a compass, I'm not sure he will take the scouts. But I think it looks like fun.
